Over the last few years, Sleepy Hollow has coordinated park 'clean-up' days throughout the Village. Many of you have participated in the past. This year, there will be a village-wide clean-up day on Saturday May 10, 2014. The areas that are the Village's focus include (but not limited to):
1) Douglas Park
2) Horan’s Landing/Riverwalk
3) Downtown
4) Morse School Park
5) Sykes Park/100 College Garden
6) Kingsland Point Park

At the legendary Old Dutch Church, in Sleepy Hollow! The moderator will be Tarrytown author, Joe Queenan. This event sent from the Tarrytown Patch: "Well, we didn't win an hour with Stephen King - as we, the Village of Sleepy Hollow, had hoped when we booked the filming of King story "A Good Marriage" here; but getting a star and a director isn't so shabby. Both, starting actress, Joan Allen (started in "Face Off" with John Travolta and Nicholas Cage) and Director, Peter Askin will answer audience and moderator questions in a forum open to the public at 7 p.m. on
**The Church holds between 100 to 125 people, and seating will be on a first-come first-serve basis.**

The Village of Sleepy Hollow, along with Phelps Memorial Hospital is providing a community meeting to help residents deal with the recent events of Super Storm Sandy; Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy and the heartbreaking fatalities in Sleepy Hollow. Phelps Hospital staff will be on hand to answer questions about PTSD, Depression, treatment or other relevant topics.The needs of the group will be assessed so that the Hospital staff involved can act accordingly. This meeting is opened to the entire community and will be held at Sleepy Hollow Village Hall, on the second floor, on Thursday January 24, 2013.The meeting will start promptly at 7:00pm until 8:30 pm. There will be a Spanish translator available for this meeting. The following Phelps Memorial Hospital Center employees are planning to attend: Judy Burns, LCSW, Director, Behavioral Health Services Rachel Schoolcraft, M.D., Program Psychiatrist and Abby Schneider, LCSW, Program Director of Phelps Counseling. Everyone brought something to eat and play with/ Thanks to the Village for providing a public bathroom, freshly cut grass and removal of poison ivy. If you enjoyed this picnic and would like to suggest a Labor Day gathering, please submit comments to the 'Volunteer' page.

Invasive plant/weed clean up; Hosted by resident David Bedell with volunteer help of residents and the Boy Scouts. you are interested in joining this activity to beautify the park on the next date for summer/fall 2011,** please submit your info on the volunteer page**.

Our first successful community event for the season-Webber Park held a community wide tag sale on June 26th, 2010 from 10am-3pm. All residents in the area between New Broadway, Route 9 and Gordon Avenue had items for sale. The turn out was great, considering it was the first summer weekend after school's end. Another tag sale is planned for the fall, date to be announced
